The minister said the greatest tribute to Murali was to fulfil some of his dream projects, including setting up a theatre complex of International standards. He also wanted to organise International theatre and percussion festivals. Baby described Murali as a very talented actor, social revolutionary, committed student of aesthetics and a human being.
Kerala Sahitya Academy president M. Mukundan observed that unlike most actors who created larger-than-life characters on screen, Murali portrayed believable ones. "Last month in a novelette, I wrote the sentence, "Tribute to the great actor Murali'. I still do not know how and why I wrote it. Did I foresee his death? It haunts me", he said. Collector V.K Baby, Kerala Sahitya Academy secretary Purushan Kadalundi, film director Priyanandanan and actor Sreeraman were present on the occasion.
