Chennai 60028 II Second Innings(Tiny Review)
Confession :The only reason I watched a late night show of this one was because Ramettan's Dhruva was showing without English subtitles. Ramettan ki Jai
More than a story based comedy,it's a collection of gags. But these gags are gut bustingly funny that you can't stop for a break from the laughter lest you miss any joke. It's humanly not possible to catch each and every joke unless you're a native Tamil speaker. How refreshing is it to catch a laugh riot which does not bore you by veering off into overly sentimental territory
Jai is dependable as always although he has the most sober role in the sequel. Shiva brings the house down with his one liners and his sharply written spoof scenes. Premji is wisely not allowed to go overboard although he does get one scene for the ages. The rest of the gang are dependably good with each one getting a chance to shine
But it's Vaibhav as the dashing rustic rowdy Maruthu who steals the show in a villainous role. The songs are befitting the celebratory nature of the flick and the BGM is electrifying. The first half is pitch perfect. Although the second half does have some routine scenes, it finishes off with a sixer of a climax.
I entered the theater with a grin and came out with an even bigger grin. Paisa vasool entertainment served with a smile
Rating :3.5+0.25 for repeat value =3.75/5(Very Good)
