Analysing Vinayan.......

Purely as a director....

Is Vinayan sometimes maligned more than his share? I agree he has given some absolutely dire movies but he also gave some superhit movies.

He was also responsible in giving much needed career breaks for Dileep, Kalabavan Mani and Prithviraj and also launched the career of Jayasoorya.

He also showed the malayali audience that life existed outside superheroes especially at a time when movies like Narasimham Raavanaprabhu etc were ruling the roost.

The major criticism against him is the alleged over use of rape, and violence in his movies. However it is hardly the first time in malayalam movies that a director showed such stuff right? I V Sasi made even more raunchier films and a career out of such kind of movies.

So let's discuss Vinayan's contribution to malayalam cinema PURELY as a director.

I agree he is an absolute cock outside the movies, (by his constant targeting of Lalettan, and afterwards indulging in murkiest politics in the MAFTA - FEFKA case). But that's not what I expect here.

Was he as terrible a director as often he is condemned to be?

Vinayan mosamilla...pakshe angerude kalaa hridayam roopeekarikkappettathu angerude swabhaavavum, anubhavavum vachaayirikkumallo..athinte kuzhappangal scriptil kaanaam...painkily+melodrama+thara situations etc....pakshe ee chavar script, athyavasyam, janam theateril kerunna reethiyil direct cheyyaan angerkkariyaam...
