Chemistry to start by July

Director Viji Thampy will make a comeback to Mollywood with the new flick ‘Chemistry’.

The movie which is planned to start its shoot by the second of July will feature Saranya Mohan and Shilpa Bala as heroine. Also in the cast are Vineeth, Mukesh, Jagathy Sreekumar and Harishree Ashokan.

The movie which will tell a campus story based and the life of Plus Two students will feature four songs by M Jayachandran. The movie is expected to reach the theatres by the end of August.

Viji Thampy's last movie to reach the theatres was ‘Nammal Thammil’, which met with a disastrous run at the Box Office.

Angel John: Mohanlal in a Jayasurya film

Cochin, June.6 (NR): 'Angel John' - that's the name of the Mohanlal-starrer to be directed by Jayasurya, also known as S.Y. Surya. Jayasurya, the son of noted scenarist-cum-theatre personality, the late S.L. Puram Sadanandan, had made his directorial debut with the Dileep starrer 'The Speed Track'. 'Angel John' is his second film.

To be produced by K.K. Narayandas under the banner of Creative Team, 'Angel John' will have Tamil actor Shantanu (the son of the ever-popular K. Bhagyaraj and Poornima Bhagyaraj) in a key role. Jayasurya and Manaf will be writing the script, based on story by Manaf.

The cast for the film includes Bhama, Jagathy Sreekumar, Suraaj Venjaramoodu, Bheeman Reghu, Baiju, Geetha etc. Songs by Subhash and Saseendra Varma will be set to tune by Ouseppachchan. Ajayan Vincent will be the cinematographer. 'Angel John' is scheduled to start rolling on July 1 at Kochi.

Gopika for a comeback

Gopika had been, one of the actresses of the recent times, who enjoyed a big fan support from the Malayalee audience. The actress who recently left the industry, following her marriage had immaculate success with her films, of which most were good hits. She had been a lucky pair with Mammootty and Dileep with whom she wrote many success stories.

Any how, a big news for her fans is that she is considering a comeback to Mollywood with a new flick, that too with her lucky pair Dileep.

The makers of Dileep's new movie ‘Swantham Lekhakan’, which will turn cinematographer P Sukumar into a movie director, are having talks with Gopika on her role in the film. Unconfirmed reports are that the actress is much interested in the character and will in all probabilities agree to this movie, as her relaunch pad. ‘Swa Le’ (Swantham Lekahakan) will feature Dileep as an investigative journalist.

Dileep and Gopika had been the successful pair in the movies like ‘Chandhupottu’, ‘Don’ and ‘Pachakuthira’.

Pramukhan ready for release

After a string of character roles and second hero roles, Kalabhavan Mani appeared as the solo hero in some films which were not too successful. Now, he is all set to try his luck again in a lead role. In Pramukhan, directed by Salim Baba which released on June 19th, Kalabhavan Mani is the hero while Sajith Raj is the second hero.

Saikumar, Sreejith Ravi, Anoopchandran, Reghu, Santhosh, Machan Varghese, Urmila Unni, Pooja, Lakshmi Sharma and Srelekshmy have supporting roles in Pramukhan. The movie is produced under the Cinema Movies banner.

Navya Nair turns glamorous

Though Navya Nair is finding it increasingly easier to find good roles in Mollywood, devoid of actors likes Gopika and Kavya, She is following a two headed track with ideas to turn glamourous in Tamil. Her new Tamil release ‘Rasikkum Seemane’ with Srikanth is said to feature some steamy sensuous scenes.

However, Navya is said to have agreed to take on this role in the condition that, her photos of alluring looks shouldn’t be handed to media channels. And so the director Vidyadharan even avoided the still photographer in the location, while shooting the sensuous song and a bedroom scene for the movie. The actress who excelled in girl next door appearances and characters still have few more projects in Tamil.

In Mollywood, Navya Nair who looks prettier than usual is going through a good phase in her career, with many good films including Kavyam, Violet and Yugapurushan in different production stages.

Pathram-2 to deal with Kerala politics

Following the big success of sequels like ‘2 Harihar Nagar’, director Renji Panikkar is also planning to do a sequel to his super hit movie ‘Pathram’, which was directed by veteran Joshy.

The original which came out in the late nineties was told in the backdrop of the newspaper industry and had some effective punchlines and great performances by Suresh Gopi, Manju Warrier, N F Varghese and Biju Menon.

According to Renji Panikkar, the sequel will also feature Suresh Gopi in the lead, where his character will be elevated to the position of a Managing Editor of a Daily. In the new movie, this uncompromising fighter will take on the state government.

The villain character will be played by Aashish Vidyarthi who will don the character of a State Politician facing a CBI investigation against a massive corruption scandal. The movie will present a parody of the present state administration and will feature bombastic dialogues from the writer - director.
