An unprecedented hike in the ticket rates in capital City
An unprecedented hike in the ticket rates in many theaters across Kerala has been witnessed. The hike started during the festive season of Onam and was seen going up without any intimation regarding it officially. A ticket now costs around Rs 80-85 as against Rs 65 a few months earlier.
The sudden hike of nearly Rs 20 has caught the viewers unawares. Government owned theaters had hiked the price after updating the facilities. But many private owned theaters have hiked the ticket rate without even providing the basic facilities including comfortable seating and air conditioning. Regulations and rules need to be put into effect immediately to stop unwarranted hikes.
