THEATERS IN PAYYANUR

Me and prem visited all theatres in Payyanur town and asked details about the halls with their staff. The staff in all theatres are very co-operate with us and gave all the details. Due to shortage of time didn’t get time to see Shanti cinema manager but got all information about theatres and their upcoming projects from the staff.
We have visited and checked the hall in the interval period of the show time. Only two theatres are airconditioned and most of the hall has DTS sound and digital projection.

As per our findings we have put some grading and marks for the theatres



1) Shanti cinemagic A/C DTS - 9/10 - Platinum
2) Rajadhani Miniplex A/C DTS – 8/10 - Platinum
3) Rajadani cinema – 6/10 - Gold
4) Shanti theatre – 6/10 – Gold
5) Aradhana – 6/10 – Gold
6) Archana – 7/10 – Gold plus
7) Sumangali – 5/10 - Silver

We got some exclusive information about the theatre plans……they are


1) Aradhana will be airconditioned soon and the work has already started. The theatre will have morethan 600 seats. All interior will be changed and the hall will be modernized.
2) Shanti theatre will be changed their name to Shanti cinema. Their new theatre Shanti cinemagic has 314 seats, the theatre hall and seats are of Multiplex standard. This is the first airconditioned theatred in town.
3) Shanti cinema is planning to update the current building and frontage to built three new theatre. And after that there will be 4 screens with 200-300 seats in the compound. Municipality asked them to maintain the current parking place. So the new building will be in the same area where shanti theatre located now.
4) Rajadhani theatre has no plan to make the theatre airconditioned. They built new miniplex theatre in the compound with less than 100 seats, actural plan is to build theatre will morethan 200 seats but Municipalicty not agreed to use their parking land to build new hall.
5) Divya theatre and land is put for sale. The selling price will be around 8-9 crores.
6) Rajadhani theatre management also planning to renovated their Sumangali theatre with A/C.
