Just back after watching the most hyped movie ever in Malayalam with a gang of 22 college mates! HISTORY REPEATS! Casanovva also turns out to be another classic example of a movie with humongous hype falling short of expectations by miles!

Not repeating the storyline again as there isn't a strong one to talk about in that department... Coming to scripting, Bobby-Sanjay better stick onto their realistic story telling which is their forte, as they were struggling a lot on this full-on commercial masala entertainer especially in the second half, though there was some sparks of brilliance in the former half which was entertaining! Can't believe they were counting on this as their dream project after going through lots and lots of obstacles for over 3 years, even after creating a masterpiece like 'Traffic'! Coming to the direction, seems like Roshan had no clue what to do in the second half or he got disinterested & lazy after the rift between the producer! Editing was another painful aspect of the movie, would have been a decent watchable flick if it was trimmed by atleast 20 minutes...

Coming to the performances, LALETTAN LALETTAN LALETTAN all the way.. The playboy image is always safe with this legend and as usual was portrayed to perfection... Introduction shot where he comes in a Harley Davidson was a treat to watch.. Can't think of any other actor in Malayalam who can pull off this with such charisma... Eventhough we saw a lot of impressive stills of Lalettan for the movie, his physique was too inconsistent throughout the movie due to various schedules! Jagathy was the only other actor who could make an impression among the supporting cast... The female cast was tiring to watch.. Roma & Sanjana were terrible.. Lakshmi Rai as usual makes no impact... Shriya Saran was the only relief among the female cast with decent acting... The four new comers also doesn't last any impression!

Visuals and technical side were impressive... Watchout for the Dubai fountain sequence featuring Lalettan & Roma... Songs & BGM were in synch with the movie... Movie looks rich & colourful with expensive cars, bikes and other high-end elements... Action sequences by Allan Amin were too unrealistic & lifted from Hollywood flicks and some of his own works like Dhoom 2... The excessive amount of cinematic liberties used in the movie also irks a lot with unbelievable elements... Climax also lets down, as it lacks the punch of such a hyped movie! Eventhough the twist in the tale was convincing, both the director & script writer fails to surprise the viewers! And the movie is sure to keep the conservative family audiences away from the screens to a great extent!

All in all, with high expectations after a long wait for more than 2-3 years, this is truly a shocking disappointment... Saroj's & Sertzui's prediction became right in the end! Another movie to add to the long list of gigantically hyped movie with ultra-stylish elements & technical wizardy, but less in substance! Too big a blunder that it was not simultaneously released in Gulf countries too, as the WOM will be spreading like wildfire for an anticipated movie like this... Strictly one-time watchable with no expectations!

Rating - 6/10 [Most of which owes to Lalettan's charisma]
Verdict - Shockingly average!
