Casanovva Theater : Cinemax screen 4 Showtime : 10.00 a.m Status : Housefull Rosshan Andrews, the one who gave us Udayananu Tharam, in the director seat. Bobby-Sanjay duo, who gave us the much adored film Traffic, penning the script. Mohanlal, the legendary actor and the best cast when it comes to playboy kind of roles, as the lead character. Over 3 years of shooting. Never seen before promotional activities. Stunning songs and refreshing trailers. A jaw-dropping budget of over 20 crores. This film had all the ingredients and hence the expectations were humongous. But it's quite sad to say that I am highly disappointed after watching this average outing. The film begins with a robbery scene in a museum. Four proffesional robbers were behind this and they are quite infamous in this and leaving no signs behind. They had performed this all over the globe and now they are back after a gap of one year. Riyaz Khan is an Interpol officer who is behind these four guys. Casanovva is a multimillionaire and adored by females all over the globe. He is also a playboy who rarely disappoints those ladies. Now these four guys choose to be a part of his gang just to enter a grand marriage reception to perform a theft. Casanovva do identifies them. But he had other plans. What are those plans? What is the connection between them and Casanovva? The answers to these questions is the remaing part of the movie. In terms of visual richness this film is a milestone in the industry Cinematography is just excelllent. Each and every frame was rich in colours. The technical department did total justice the large sum of money spent. BGM was very good as well as the songs. But when it comes to other aspects, it was a disappointment. Even though the film had a nice plot the script and dialogues couldn't complement it. The length of the movie adds to the misery. Director did the best of what he can do with such a weak script. For a love story nice dilaogues with feel is a must. Of course, there were a couple of good one liners, but all others failed to register the impact on the audience. The film which was intersting at the beginning, statrts to loose it after the introduction song and it continues to be so till intervel punch. The intervel pucnch gave hope for an interesting second half but second half was worse than the first. With a lengthy love track between Mohanlal and Shriya, the script writers are testing the patience of the audience. Even though the last 20 minutes were interesting the viewer would have dropped the film way before that. The performances except that of Mohanlal was average or below average. Even though Mohanlal did a nice job, the character didn't had anything so great to test his acting abilties and sad to say in some scenes he lacked energy too. But he was indeed stylish and apt for the character. Overall, it's not a bad film. But the length, average performnce from mojority of the cast, weak script and huge hype is enough to shadow all the positives. If you are watching film just for Mohanlal, you don't need to be disappointed. It will be an above average or good film. But as a whole it is a disappointment. I don't except miracles to happen at box office. The reponse of the film after this hype has slowed down is crucial. But still.... Bottom Line :- This is only my opinion. The one with less expectation may have some other. After the show the WOM was not good and atmosphere was dull.
