      Default Super Deluxe

OK, so imagine your tastes in modern world cinema are esoteric and completely out of the box. Now consider you are going to transplant your tastes to a milieu in which the slightest deviation from the norm would result in innumerable brickbats being thrown at you. Maybe this is what the director of Super Deluxe meant. It is literally career suicide to make a movie like this. Yes, you're going to get the appreciation of a random bunch of people. But any self respecting producer would balk at the prospect of such outrageousness being depicted on screen, probably coz he'd want to come out unscathed.

I'm not saying that I caught all the references or all the plot points. But after a very long time, I found myself wondering about the point of it all, and to be very honest, I began to make connections about the various nitty gritties long after I left the theater. Even the exasperating God vs belief storyline was which does test one's patience paid off in an absolutely gob smacking manner.

The pleasures of this interconnected universe are many. There's more than enough dark comedy to populate 3 separate movies. The acting is stellar, and by stellar I meant out of the world. FF, Samantha, Inspector Berlin all own the screen with their acts. And the original score is a thing of beauty. Just listen to the way the tension is built up through the sound design and the score. I'm no film student but certain shots (almost, 90 percent,) made me wanna wish to join film school to learn how these were conceptualized and implemented.

Finally, it's the performance of a certain actor who manages to transcend art through his performance. A heartbreaking portrayal and possibly the best out of the ensemble. It's one of those acts that deserve to be seen in the biggest screen possible. Because this is what the courage of an actor is all about. It's neither about giving more screenspace to your peers nor about how crowdpleasing your act is. It's about pure art. And VJS has just managed to move to the pinnacle of his career.

Rating: I can't rate this movie. Coz I still haven't managed to get to the big picture. But whatever moments I've spent inside the theater was incredibly rewarding

      Welcome Mallik Bhai

Tyler Durden and Kino Fist ennu creditsil kandappo notice cheythu. But I didn't know it was the director's own production. Because I was getting annoyed by a bunch of punks who were like "Whoa, Tyler Durden, whoa Tyler Durden babes, from Fight Club, Yeah, **** yeah, let me know go into a self manufactured orgasm in front of the entire audience just to let them know that I've watched Fight Club."
