Default Avengers:End Game ~ An Opinion

Venue ~ IMAX, Westend Mall, Pune
      Showtime ~ 07:30 AM
      Status ~ 100%

The greatest event since "Avatar" made its way after a gargantuan success of its prequel has matched the hype?....This is the biggest question!!! I should say that to a huge extend, it was successful. The sense of inconsistency of the initial 45 minutes (due to clumsy writing) might be the main negative of this movie. But once the movie found its plot, it was absolute excitement!!

One of my friend found this movie extremely lagging and lack entertainment value. The reason is simple...unlike Infinity War, the movie used lesser action sequences and honestly I didn't find anything that I can really recall other than climax affair (again I can't pin point a scene). There is no Thor in Wakanda scene or Cap Entry or Bleeding Armour moments in this movie. This is why I felt the movie should have done a better job in the writing department in comparison to the prequel. Also the film gave huge importance to the actors whose contracts with MCU are over and ignoring some of the major characters.

Regarding performers, people will remember this as Iron Man/Captain America movie. Thor had his moments by bringing comic relief. Rest of the actors really didn't create much of an impact especially Captain Marvel!!!

      Fav Scenes!!

This is a movie which any MCU FAN will WATCH and MUST WATCH!!! Others really need to watch some old movies to understand some subtle moments!!!

      I enjoyed this experience!!!

Thanks Intex, as you said Endgame is not about the action set pieces or mass entry moments like in IW....but more focused on the emotional side and is tailor made for ardent MCU fans. As Sethumadhavan said in an earlier post when Tony's daughter says to Happy that she would like to have cheeseburger my mind immediately shot back to the scene from the first Iron Man movie where exact same thing is demanded by Tony while coming out from the military helicopter after being held captive for many days in Afghanistan. Similarly so many subtle things which only real Marvel fans understand.

As a fan...I loved this movie....intact 9/10 effort...but if the writing was better and gave those ideas an edge...it would have been a tremendous watch...anyways...climax...OUTSTANDING!!!

yes...initially the movie is a tad slow...a debate can be done whether it could have been crispier...

Nothing was there in terms of being crispier....There was content despite the clumsy writing....I am not at all impressed by the Cap Marvel character...She absolutely looked "Enthino Vendi Thilakkunna Sambhar"....Also Professor Hulk couldnt fill the Original Hulk's space and thats solely based as a fan boy...We need a solo movie where the Prof Hulk becomes Original Hulk.

I found this movie to be a brilliant tribute to Cap America & Iron Man...Infact I expected the ending to be the other was round but the Russo Bros out-thought me in this area....Cap America ending was perfect!!! Other than Thor, AntMan & Rocket's comic efforts, I felt Black Widow had some space. But she lacks an X factor like Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye...its like e just don't care whatever happened to them and the only reason is becoz they are the original Avengers.

I loved the portions like Frigga doing a pep talk with Thor, The Starks conversation, Cap meeting Carter etc. Those emotional moments along with Stark's family moments were the soul of the movie. If we talk about the climax grand action....Its just people running around here n there. It was well shot but not innovative or brilliant in comparison to Civil War or Infinity War. But as a fan, I loved it!!!

I am sure as fans, we both have an emotion which a normal moviegoer doesnt possess....Cheeseburgers, Dance, Lift Scene etc. can be understood by fans like us who watched these movies more than once....That emotion is something that holds me when I hear "The Real Hero" soundtrack from the movie as I am typing this!!!!

MCU might go in another route....might display brilliance...But without those guys...real & reel....it won't be the same!!!!

Cp Marvel was deliberately underplayed because she is not a well-cooked character in terms of movies and appearances. So, giving her too much screen space would not have derived a lot of fan satisfaction. IN fact, her character was given a bit of snobbishness, like she was too occupied by other things going on around the universe. Personally, I loved the writing. The slow, deliberate and sombre first half hour was necessary to register the gloom and despair. And, the way they gave screen time to round off the personal character arcs of Captain and Stark makes us love those characters even more.

And, I disagree that there are not enough 'moments' like Thor's Wakanda entry in Infinity War! Captain has at least a couple of moments where the fans really lost their voices screaming!

Even I miss the Hulk of the 1st Avengers...all smash and no talk..when they started giving him dialogues and comic angle...the essence of the real hulk was lost somewhere
