Director Gautham Vasudev Menon is little disappointedwith his recent release Ek Deewana Tha, which didn’t perform well in Bollywood box office. He has now started working on his nextschedule of Neethaane En Ponvasantham that stars Jiiva and Samantha in lead role. Although the posters of Vijay’s Yohan Adhyayam Ondru was published nearly before 6 months.
However, due to prior commitments of them, the project didn’t take off.
Recent calls on airs are thatGautham Menon will complete the shooting for Neethaane En Ponvasantham by end of May and Vijay with Thuppaki by the same time.Apparently, the shooting ofYohan Adhyayam Ondru will go on floors from June.
It is yet to be confirmed whether the first schedule will be held in India, UK or USA.

Gautham Menon (On YOHAN) : The script for YOHAN is ready, the shooting is all set to begin once Vijay finishes his encounter with Murugadoss. Vijay is the only tamil face in this movie, the heroine will be an Indian too, rest of the cast will be made up of foreign artists. This will be a Tamil movie but the quality will be top notch and it will be released worldwide with English subtitles. Music by A.R. Rahman. Once the Character 'YOHAN' is established we can continue the series (Just like the JAMES BOND series) in future.

Gautham’s Yohan starring Vijay to go on floor

It’s been long since we have heard something about Gautham Menon’s Yohan. The director who is presently shooting Neethane En Ponvasantham has confimed that the shoot for Yohan: Adhyayam Ondru will go on floor from May. Vijay who is presently shooting for AR Murugadoss’ Thupakki will join Gautham in May. The film is said to be an action thriller. The film will be produced by Eros Entertainment and Photon Kathas Production.

Gautham Vasudev Menon speaks on Yohan (Exclusive)

● What about your film with Ilayathalapathy Vijay?
It’s starting in June. It’s one of our biggest films, and I’m really looking forward to it.

● Looking at the title, Yohan: Adhyaayam Ondru (Yohan: Episode One) – is it a part a series?
Yes, the film will have sequels. We’re going to set up a character that people will want to come back and watch, like a James Bond kind of thing.

● Fair enough – but why Yohan?
Yohan’s a very popular Christian name. It’s another form of John, actually. In Christian circles, people will definitely know what it means. We wanted something unique.

● There’s been a lot of talk that the film’s posters were inspired by a French film.
See, if you look at what people have done on the net – they’ve actually taken our posters, and put it on shots of Will Smith and other French films. We haven’t done that. The official posters we came out with, the ones that appeared in the newspapers and magazine, are all original. The ones that appeared on the Net are what fans have pulled out and used on other images. They’re not what we’ve done. It’s not a remake or an inspired film. It’s original in every way.
