Theater- Vetri, Chromepet
Place- Outer Chennai
Show- Special fans show
Attendance- Almost Full.[chairs at one portion were too bad, so no one occupied there, otherwise can be termed as House full]

So.....................

Atlast..... The legends unite.....

First of all a big thanks to Orkut Kamal community, from there only i knew that there is a fans show in outer chennai theater Vetri, Chromepet. Me and my friend aravind(ss id-thatsaravind) flew from here around 8.20 to reach there for the planned fans show @ 9 PM. We reached there on correct time and took ticket in black for 150/- per head. But the film started @ 10 PM waiting for many fans to enter inside the theater.

Now... coming to the film. A sincere remake to the original- A wednesday. But the actors got more sharper dialogues. It starts and ends with Mohanlal and this might be a surprise to the lal fans that Kamal gave a commendable space for Mohanlal despite all speculations that he will sideline him.

So many people knew the story, so there is nothing new in explaining about it. Scene wise Mohanlal got more scenes than Kamal Haasan. But Kamal's scenes were lengthy. The waves of claps and cheers were there when Aandavar appeared on the screen for the first time. But the story turning in to a serious mood in a fast pace. In the starting even BGM was not there for few minutes which makes the seriousness more intense.

But later it has some good moments to laugh- whenever there is a tit-for-tat dialogue comes in between Mohanlal and Lakshmi or Mohanlal and Kamal Haasan, there were somethign to laugh or cheer. Mohanlal scored in the first half at many occasions, he got such dialogues. Got good appreciation from the audience too- especially for the dialogues in occasions like- when the star comes to ask protection[one of the starting scenes]; then the dialogue with his subrodinate about the police inspecor who acted carelessly-"avar vanthaa directaa veettukku poka sollungo..." , "veri pidicha naaya mathiri odanamaa" to lakshmi. These were some dialogues- which evoked laugher according to the situations. A bit of sarcasm was there in his language. There was heavy clapping for his tit-for-tat dialogues with Lakshmi. Hats off to Kamal who gave a proper space for Mohanlal, he utilised it well too.

Now coming to Aandavar. Nice to see him back in a class role. Unlike many other Kamal movies, he was shown up with controlled acting. I will rate it as his best performance in the decade. He was too cool with handling both the languages eventough i didnt like over usage of English[because it will be very difficult for many audience to understand it since there are no Tamil subtitles]. But he handled it very nicely, even his expressions were enough to convey the meaning. The real portion where he got full applause was the last 10-15 minutes. He simply rocked. There was non-stop clapping in the theater for his climax dialogues. Really really superb. Hats off to the legend.

Final scene where the two legends unite was cool, but there was no much claps for that. Overall the movie is superb and in no way people will blame it when comparing A Wednesday. Because these two legends rocked in the scenes got for them.

A simple minus point i felt was the lack of BGM for the starting scenes. The subordinate officers were good, but not upto the officers in A Wednesday. This doesnt mean that they were bad. Looks wise the repoter gal was very ugly.

Overall the film is a nice one with less commercial elements. You will enjoy it for sure.

Verdict- Nice movie

Box Office Prediction- Hit

[Dont know whether it will attract families, but surely a treat for high class audience.]

tamil audience is better than malayali audience in enjoying this kind of films... film has less commercial elements...
