Puri Jagan starts shooting

After spending a couple of weeks in Bangkok working on his script, director Puri Jagannath is back on the sets directing his close friend Ravi Teja in his next Telugu film Devudu Chesina Manushulu, at Ramoji Film City.


Producer Bogavalli Prasad says that getting Ravi Teja and Puri to team up has been his dream since the days of the super hit film Idiot.


"This rocking entertainer will be a much bigger hit than Idiot," claims the producer, who plans to release the film in June by shooting without a break.


Ileana plays the female lead and her character will have shades of grey. It remains to be seen if Puri will be able to revive the sagging career of Ravi Teja, who is reeling under duds like Veera and Nippu, and put him back in the big league.

Mani Ratnam`s Kadal starts

Tamil cinema`s best known director Mani Ratnam has started the shoot of his new film Kadal in Manapad.


Mani has personally chosen this picturesque location in southern Tamil Nadu for the shoot.


Manapad is coastal village that lies between Tuticorin and Tiruchendur. Kadal is said to be a love story set against a coastal village with an underlining tension over fishermen going missing in the high seas.


Kadal introduces one time top romantic hero Karthik`s son Gautham in the lead opposite the hot and happening Samantha.


Arjun, Lakshmi Manchu and Aravind Samy are playing important character roles in the film which is being shot by Rajiv Menon. It has music by A R Rahman, who has already recorded one song for the film written by Madhan Karky.
