101 WEDDiNGS REVIEW: SORRY TO SAY IT BUT KUNCHACKO BOBAN SHOULD STOP DANCING.

Theatre: New, Trivandrum

Show Time: 9.30 PM, November 23, 2012

Status: Houseful

PLOT:

Krish alias Krishnankutty is the only son of Gandhian Munshi Shankara Pillai. Unlike his father, Krish is a typical “new generation” young man in ideologies. His father compels Krish to marry Abhirami, a character portrayed by Samvritha Sunil, who is also a strict follower of Gandhian principles.

Krish and his intimate friend (a character portrayed by Vijeesh) are looking for a means to avoid this marriage. They approach Natyakalarathnam Jyothi(Jayasurya) with a dirty game to abort the marriage plan. Do they succeed in this endeavor? What are the troubles that come on their way? Shafi is narrating these things in a very humorous way.

DIRECTION & STORY:

Shafi’s craftsmanship to churn out zero vulgar comedy sequences is proven once again.
Coming to the story, I don’t think even the makers will claim it as a brilliant one. It though suits for a comedy entertainer.

PERFORMANCE:

Kunchacko Boban: Sometimes people called him an actor of multi-star movies. Some other times audience criticized that he could not do comedy. 101 Weddings is the actor’s brilliant answer to both these assumptions. He is not only the “only hero” of the movie but also the source of most of the striking comedy numbers in the movie. He scores much better compared to Jayasurya and Biju Menon. Since his comedy characters are also winning audience, Kunchacko Boban should stop dancing in movies for some time and find time for some good comedy-entertainers as well.

Samvritha Sunil: A bold, cute and virtuous girl- that is Abhirami; another remarkable character from Samvritha. :dancing:

Jayasurya: Jayasurya’s first appearance as a person of feminine nature worked out almost well.

Biju Menon: Biju Menon played his part well. He maintains his newly invented charm in dialogues and acting and makes a successful pair with Kunchacko.:dancer:
Vijayaraghavan, Salim Kumar & Bhama were good. Suraj was good on most of the occasions. Sunil Sugatha really entertained the audience.

SONGS:

2 of the three songs were just okay while the number "sajalamay" is really good. :dancing::dancing::dancing:

GENRE : FAMILY/MASS COMEDY ENTERTAINER

RATING :3.2/5

VERDICT : WORTH BECOMING A SUPERHIT BASED ON RECENT TRENDS.
