Ilayathalapathy Vijay's 50th film 'sura' is no way better than his last film 'Vettaikaran'. No solid story or script, novelty in presentation and very poor direction makes this a below average flick. Only thing which can be termed as positive is Vijay.
story:
Nothing special to mention. Sura, the lead character is someone like leader in a fishermen community. He is the young man who helps the poor fisherfolk there to take some important decisions.
Also he lends helping hand to them when needed. His greatest dream is to build good homes to poor families there.
Minister Samudram(devgill) eyes the area where these fishermen resides and he want to build a theme park near that seashore. For that he tries to eliminate Sura. But Sura escapes those attempts and fight back the villian to save the fishermen group.
direction:
dont know whether there was a director to direct this film..horrible execution. There is nothing like script. Pasting some usual Vijay film scenes in unimpressive manner.
acting:
Vijay is the only man who makes us sit and watch the film till end. His dancing skills are neatly explored in songs like naan nadanthaal athiradi and thanjaavoor jilla.
thamanna was good in songs. But she looked more gorgeous in paiya.
Devgill was good in his looks. But make up was boring. Eventhough he was the main villian he had nothing much to perform.
songs:
Songs were average. Naan nadanthaal and Thanjaavoor jilla were visually good.
conclusion:
A below average mix of vijay formula films. Vettaikaran was better than this in my opinion. Hope Vijay will get a good role and bigger hit through kaavalkaaran.
