After KITES another big budget over hyped disappointment....RAAVAN, Prithvirajine sahikkan pattathathu kondum mosham theateril release cheythathu kondum i just avoided the tamil version. The film has nothing much to boast except the excellent cinematography by Santhosh Sivan and V.Manikandan.The main negative of the movie was its weak script, a usual story with no speicalities. The story is a modern approach of the epic Ramayana, a tribal leader Beera (AB) Kidnaps the wife Ragini (Aiswarya) of DCP Dev prathap (Vikram), and dev tries to find out her...this is the basic story line of the film, the first half is much dragging and felt boring, no intersting scenes or moments in the first half except the exotic visuals, in the second half the reason for the kidnap is revealed and it is a usual cliche...the climax fight between Ab and Vikram on a bridge was super and that was the only positive i find in the movie after the cinematography. And the ending shoot out sequence were ultra bore.... Nothing more to say about the film....Performance wise all have done a Ok job but nothing extra ordinary or great...AB has more to improve and Vikram has nothing to do much in this version, Aiswarya looks good but and was ok thats all....this time the music of A.R Rahman is bit disappointed except the "Beera beera" and "behne De"...but the BGM was good but most of the time the movie has no BGM, the supporting castGovinda, Priyamani, Ravi Kisan etc were also Ok. In my opinion Mani Rathnam should conecntrate on Tamil instead of making experiments in Hindi....the persons who steals the show was the cinematographers, Hats off to them. Overall it is a below average flick for
me.
Verdict: below Average
Rating: 4/10
