Liked it for the first 230 odd pages and then it just lost me completely for the last 40. The novel follows the life of our protagonist,an ace barrister who is defending her client,a housewife for the killing of her husband. On her personal front ,she’s caught in an unhappy marriage and she’s ****ing her colleague whilst also being a terrible mother to her young kid. The parts that work in this book chronicle the portrayal of women in abusive marriages. But the characters are too unlike able and the ending just comes out of nowhere, Women,may be able to enjoy this book better
