Knew Kaaval was gonna be a dud from the trailer itself. But weekend polum survive cheythilla. Wow.

Suresh Gopi should do more character roles now. He was too good in Varane Avshyamundu. He has the talent to do non-massy roles for sure.

Considering the initial Kaaval received (with poor promos and marketing), its pretty clear that Suresh Gopi doesn't require to play only character roles. Its just that Kaaval didn't have the punch according to the expectations. If the film was at least in the level of "The Tiger", it would have done well!!! So its not S Gopi's fault and we have to wait for Pappan to get a better picture. I am not sure about Ottakomban eventhough Biju Menon joining the cast adds to the cast.

What do you mean by character role? Something like Kaliyattam in which he played Othello? National award winning role
