King Arthur:Legend of the sword

If I was a 13 year old teen, then this would have been the coolest movie ever. Swords, sorcery and an overdose of VFX would have definitely ensured this. But unfortunately those years are well past me, but I still had fun while it lasted. It's got the Guy Ritchie style of making so it speeds by too fast. Would have benefited from an additional 30 min. It's a pity that this was a critical and commercial failure, I'd surely have bought tickets for the sequels

I watched this in theaters... 3-4 years back..if I remember right! It felt tedious.... additional 30 minutes would have been yawn inducing in my opinion!

Saw a review like this..for the film Dogtooth..

Bad direction meets an interesting script which by the way is an opportunistic rip off of Castle of Purity (1974), a Mexican film which i love (see El castillo de la pureza (1973) - IMDb). As the IMDb description states, the Mexican movie is ''The story of a disciplined and sexually driven man who keeps his family isolated in his home for years to protect them from the "evil nature" of human beings while inventing (with his wife) rat poison''.

The director just changed the scenery, added some minor details and served it to the audience. I feel pity for the poor Mexican fellow who saw both viewers and the academy rewarding this rip off.

His House

A refugee couple from Sudan is allotted a house in England as part of a programme for rehabilitation of refugees. Unfortunately something evil has followed them from Africa. Despite a predictable twist in the last act, this is a powerful look at the life of refugees and a genuinely scary horror movie. Really cools jump scares guaranteed.
