Casting and Frames maati nirthiyaal.....Joji oru gambheera padam onnumalla IMO. Enikku aake ishtapettu scenes Kuttapante signing scene, mask ittu baraan parayunna scene maathram aanu.

Main issue Joji enna characterinte inconsistent aayitulla features aanu. Whether he is dumb or intelligent or crooked.

Pinne ivarude cinema vannaal SMil kuttapeduthaan paadilla enna mob psychology (like LJP movies) enna ivideyum kaanaam.

      Still I found Joji watchable.

Coming to Fahadh Fazil, I feel he has become too repetitive with these psycho-characters. Joji reminded me in many places of Shammi of Kumbalangi Nights. He needs to introspect and get away from the Shyam Pushkaran character arcs, and play some varied roles in his coming films. I hope Malik is a departure from this repetitiveness.
I agree with this 100%. Despite the fact that his performance was the soul in following movies, Trance, Irul & Joji, the psycho play started to become Dejavu. He needs to play some different roles henceforth and keep the psycho act aside for time being.

Joji and Irul kandilla. But, personally I got tired of the psycho routine in Kumbalangi Nights itself. It has almost become a plot device to add some spice to the script or somehow finish a story that's going nowhere.

      Joji is a good film..
Don't avoid it like that crap Irul.

Actually since you mentioned Irul, I would like the underline the importance of casting...in Joji, casting is perfect eventhough except Shammi and Fahad, none are actually good actors. But they looked like the characters. So they somehow cover the slight loopholes.

But in Irul, it was irritating to watch Soubin and the boredom extended further

      ജോജി എനിക്കും വലിയ സംഭവം ആയി തോന്നിയില്ല except for its settings and narrative.. Same with suraj...

Absolutely loved the film up to two-thirds of the movie at which point the movie, in my opinion, began to run out of steam.
Though the film is billed as an adaptation of William Shakespeare's Macbeth, I couldn't find the source material's influences enough in the film, save for the big middle act. Both the characters and situations diverged a lot from the bard's magnum opus so much so that I think it is safe to consider Joji an original film (though the film owes its setting to KG George's Irakal, Joji doesn't share that film's pessimistic outlook and rawness for better and worse).
Performances were top-notch and the technical department scored big time. The screenplay by Shyam Pushkaran used the craft of minimalism to spectacular results.
I particularly loved the fluid camerawork by Shyju Khalid (props to those outdoor scenes). But the unsung hero here is the composer Justin Varghese who has employed an international orchestra to give the film a different sound.
