A watchable family drama. While most of the movie is fairly low key and breezy, the last hour infuses too much melodrama and a glycerine overdose. ARR's score is apt for the movie and takes it forward, but not sure how it would be as a standalone album. Kriti does a decent job but her accent is all over the place. Pankaj Tripathi is excellent as always in both the comic scenes as well as the dramatic ones. Maybe it's coz of the whole hate against the Nepotism gang, but this movie is getting way more praise than it ought to get

      Just a watchable movie

Such comparisons are not necessary. But the hand of south journalists and cinema lovers is forced by some overenthusiastic Bollywood journalists who have seen anything but Hindi cinema who proclaim it as one of its kind and pioneer in Indian cinema etc!

      The Suicide Squad

Incredibly fun and bubbling with entertainment and some pretty neat twists... It does justice to every single core characters who are given enough space to perform and funny lines, making you care for each of them... Everything that suicide squad (2016) and birds of prey (2020) were not... Idris Elba and Margot Robbie are in top form as expected... However surprisingly the showstealer was Daniella Melchior as ratcatcher 2 turning in an incredibly earnest and sympathetic perfomance... Viola Davis, Joel kinnaman and John Cena provide able supporting perfomances... Stallone's King Shark is DC's version of groot, an animated character with minimal lines... the violence is cool, stylized and adds to the shock factor... some of the deaths are incredibly affecting and the death of a fan-favourite character in the first 15 minutes was an unexpected curveball... Overall, DC did the right thing for once, hiring James Gunn for revamping one of the most beloved properties of DC universe... Looking forward to what he has in store for the John Cena spin-off series 'peacemaker' coming out next year.

After hearing below average reviews for this eagerly waited webseries, watched it with low expectations... Surprisingly, it was a decent experience with most of them having above average quality...

Edhiri (Karuna)- A mediocre predictable storyline about guilt and redemption, elevated by the low-key perfomances by sethupathi, revathy and prakash raj... this short had a sombre mood to it, though it ended abruptly... 3/5

Summer of '92 (Haasya)- a storyline inspired from our Innocent's life, this one had many laugh out loud moments... easily one of the best in the series... 3.5/5

Project Agni (Adbhutha)- a return to form for Karthik Naren after his underwhelming 'mafia'... Heavy inspirations from Matrix and inception are evident... Yet he manages to conjure a plausible twisty sci-fi flick in the short 30 minutes he got... 3.5/5

Payasam (Bibhatsa)- well made, performed and the ending justifies the emotion attributed to this short... still something was missing somewhere... a lot of backstory is left to the viewer's imagination... 2.75/5

Peace (Shaantha)- personally, the worst short of all the lot... Karthick Subbaraj's bad form continues... this one is evidence that long single shot takes do not necessarily build up tension if the material to work with is lazy and sub-par... 2/5

Roudhram (Roudra)- this Aravind swami directorial perfectly complemented technically by santhosh sivan's frames and A R rahman's music is hardhitting and visceral... with a relatively unknown cast, this ends up being one the best performed and best made shorts of the lot, if not the best... 3.75/5

Inmai (Bhayaanaka)- Half expected this to be another addition to thiruvothu's long recent list of 'boo-hoo... im a victim of discrimination... feel sorry for me' movies... Thankfully, it was not... decently performed and made with elements of surrealism... decent watch... 2.75/5

Thunintha pin (Veera)- Another one of the weak entries in the series... started off promisingly, but then meandered aimlessly and ended in the same way... Talents like Kishore and Atharvaa were wasted here... 2/5

Guitar Kambi Mele Nindru (Shringaara)- Being the most hyped short of the lot, it would not be wrong to say that the over hype hurt this one... However, cant blame the making or perfomances too much for that... It simply boils down to the fact that the surya-prayaga chemistry wasnt good enough to engage the viewer through the longest of the shorts... The intense chemistry a' la Krishnan-Malini, Suriya-Meghna or Karthik-Jessie was missing here... And no amount of cool music(Karthik makes a strong debut as a composer) and visuals can make up for that fundamental element in a love story... 2.5/5

The Suicide Squad - Loved it. Every character was given prominence. The show stealers were Ratcatcher & King shark.. Harley escape scene was cool..

PS : I was never able to recognize Vin diesel when he voiced groot. It was exact opposite for stallone.
