OTT business is fairly new, and as yet there is no serious competition between big movies to get OTT deals. Right now it is the OTT platforms that are going after big films to buy them. This will change after a while. OTT revenue model will change from outright buying to pay-per-view. After a while OTT platforms will call the shots as to what they pay, rather than big films waiting for bigger offers from competition. Ultimately, theaters will remain relevant. Maybe some can't survive this crunch, but most will. WHat will come out of this is a parallel industry that generates content exclusively for web!

You can hardly see the involvement of Hindu outfits in the Independence struggle. it is basically because RSS idea was the unity of all Hindus(though 60% of the Hindus weren't then).

Now the history itself is being re written in favour of Hindu bigots and many people haven't any problem, but are worried that history is being tarnished in the name of Vaariyamkunnan Movie.

Nathuram Godse is being hailed. = No problem.
RSS fought second world war and even marched in Republic day parade. = No problem.

Vaariyamkunnan was a patriot and fought against the British.- Koottakkarachilum theriyum- Nammude raajyathinte history nashippikkunne.....

Excellent... ingane thanne parayanam. You seem to suggest that there was no Hindu involvement in the freedom struggle at all. Everybody had their own ideas of what is right, and fought according to that. Subhash Chandra Bosum Gandhiyum ore lakshyam vachu pravarthichavaranu, margam vere aayirunnu ennu mathram. When you look back through the lens of history one appears right and the other appears wrong. In WB, they still regard Netaji as the most heroic freedom fighter. 50 years after independence we came to know that Nehru had spied on Netaji's family long after he was allegedly killed in a plane crash. History throws up new dimensions from time to time. Pakshe parayumbo ellam parayanam...
You cannot make a Winston Chruchill biopic without showing how inhuman he was in dealing with the Bengal famine. Vaariyamkunnan fought against the British no doubt. But, it is also well documented that the rebellion turned into a religious witch hunt (with or without Vaariyamkunnan's consent - we don't know for sure). The fear now is that Vaariyamkunnan will be painted as a white knight, which will be twisting of well-know historical facts. That fear is primarily due to the director's political allegiance and the announcement post which clearly hailed Vaariyamkunnan as a hero. If the same announcement had been made by some other director, say Anwar Rasheed, no one would have had much of a problem. Kayamkulam Kochunni was a muslim who fought against the British atrocities. Maybe not a freedom struggle. He was portrayed as a hero beyond doubt. Hindus did not have any problem. Marakkar is about India's first naval commander who happens to be Muslim, and the movie clearly shows him as a valiant hero- Hindus don't have any problem. Jodha Akbar showed a Mughal emperor as fair and secular - Hindus did not have any problem (except some Rajputs). Don't turn everything into a Hindu fanatic angle. When history is clear and unanimous, there will be no questions asked. When history itself is full of doubts and contradictions, and when the subject is sensitive, there will be questions, and whoever touches such subjects better be ready to answer.
