Will Smith is one hell of a charismatic actor, but his recent movie choices have been so soul suckingly dour that I skipped watching his works just after catching the promos. Bad Boys for life, which is the third installment in the franchise manages to bring Big Will back to what he does best. Smith is the quintessential masala movie hero. He's got the looks, the charm and is one hell of an actor. And BBFL ticks all the 3 positives
The plot is straight out of an 80's Indian masala movie. Ace Miami PD cop Mike Lowery is targeted by someone from his past and has to team up once again with his partner in crime to get to the bottom of this hit job. The drama and emotions feel earned because the actors approach the material without any cynicism.
The movie gets really going in the second half with some well shot chases and shootouts. Some of the lines are really funny and we even get a terrific villainess. We wveb get,the father of the modern action movie in a cameo
If you're tired of watching action movies which have an over reliance on high tech stuff and global threats,BBFL would serve as a palate cleanser. Its just a bunch of cops battling local threats and giving the audience a good time
Rating:3.25/5(Good)
Note: Why does every movie have to have a post credits scene which sets up a universe![]()
