Thread: Varane Aavshyamundu and Ayyapanum Koshiyum -Spark's Review

Watched Varane Aavshyamundu and Ayyapanum Koshiyum from Gopalan Grand mall on 15th and 14th Feb respectively.

Status (both) : Housefull

Varane Aavshyamundu tells the story of a relationship between a Mother and her daughter. Both find their life partners towards the climax.

ഒരു പോലീസ്*കാരന്റെയും പ്രതിയുടെയും ശത്രുതയെ കുറിച്ചുള്ള കഥയാണ് അയ്യപ്പനും കോശിയും.


It has been a trend in malayalam cinema since long to include tamil dialogues and introduce some tamil characters. Varane Aavshyamundu is no exception. Since the story is set in the Chennai backdrop, the task has become more easy for the director. Most of the songs in the movie do not have any purpose. A special mention to Suresh Gopi, Dulquer, Johny Antony, Kalyani who made the movie a watchable one. If I tell that Shobhana has acted naturally, I'd be lying. So sorry to her fans. Even her character is not well structured. Here, the mother is not discussing with her daughter about her plan to marry a person who she knows for a short period. When all the hurdles are cleared, she requests him for a date with her.
This shows the immaturity of a middle-aged woman who is friendly with every tom, nick and Harry on the road.


തുടക്കം മുതൽ അവസാനം വരെ ഉദ്വേഗം നിറഞ്ഞ മുഹൂർത്തങ്ങൾ ഉള്ള സിനിമയാണ് അയ്യപ്പനും കോശിയും. ഈ ചിത്രത്തെ ഒരു അനുഭവം തന്നെയാക്കാൻ ഇതിന്റെ ഛായാഗ്രഹണം നിർവഹിച്ച സുദീപും, സംഗീതം കൈകാര്യം ചെയ്ത JakesBejoykkum കഴിഞ്ഞു എന്ന് പറയാം. അഭിനയിച്ചു തകർക്കാൻ കിട്ടിയ അവസരം പ്രിത്വിരാജ് തകർത്താടി തന്നെ മുതലാക്കി . അധികം സംഭാഷണങ്ങൾ ഇല്ലെങ്കിലും മിതത്വം നിറഞ്ഞ അഭിനയത്തോടെ ബിജു മേനോൻ ഒപ്പം തന്നെയെത്തി എന്ന് പറയാം. സംഘട്ടനരംഗങ്ങൾ കീരിക്കാടൻ -സേതുമാധവൻ സംഘട്ടന രംഗങ്ങളുടെ അത്രയും നിലവാരം പുലർത്തി.

Shobhana was trying to use a different style. But the attempt was clearly visible. Hence the acting looked artificial. I also felt the influence of dance on her performance.She should not take a break from films.Yearly two films enkilum cheyyanam.

Urvashi is any day more talented and versatile thannany actress in Malayalam Film Industry including Manju Warrier, Shobhana. Only Revathy can challenge that talent. Unfortunately she didn't have an iconic character like Nagavally or a streak of good female oriented characters like Manju Warrier. On other hand, during Manju's days, her competitors were extremely poor when you consider now and younger days. Any good female character gone for Manju. This was her stature then which no actress enjoyed.

During Urvashi days, she competed with talented actresses like Revathy, Shobhana, Seema, Geetha, Nadhiya, Karthika, Sumalatha etc etc. Also she was generous enough to play female lead in movies featuring 2nd string actors like Jagadeesh, Siddhique etc and also cameos like Yoddha. Maybe her most popular character might be Kadinjool Kalayanam but seriously I don't remember the name. Surely she doesn't have a character as famous or anywhere near as popular as Nagavally or Clara.

You are right. Shobhana, Urvashi, Manju--ivaril kooduthal talented and versatile Urvashi anu. I think her career best role is Kanjana (Thalayanamanthram).
