I watched Encanto in theater along with my elder daughter yesterday. I love Disney movies for various reasons, one thing I am always certain is the message the movie passes to the kids as well as adults. It always shows how to fight various challenges while evolving yourself and finally teaches the biggest lesson and treasure one has...the Family. Now add to that the amazing musical scores that are a sure certainty with Disney movies and animations that will have your jaws dropping. You will always exit the theater with a smile and a bit of moisture in the eyes.
Coming back to Encanto, the story is set in Columbia and features the Madrigal family who are blessed with Magic and every member of the family gets a magical power (it varies from person to person) at the age of 5. The only person who did not receive the powers at the age of 5 is Mirabel who as a 15 year old is the central character of the movie. The movie moves along with Mirabel trying to find out the secrets behind the house's magical powers and investigating about Bruno who was ousted from the house 10 years ago in mysterious circumstances. During her investigation she comes to know about the magic's waning powers and she have to do her part to keep it going. The narration of the story is done exceptionally well and the voice actors have done a fabulous job.
The song 'We don't talk about Bruno' became a rage all over the world but for me I loved the song 'Surface pressure' more and my daughter also agreed with me.
Disney....you never disappoints!
