Bhupathi-Sania win French Open
Mahesh Bhupathi and Sania Mirza have won the mixed doubles title at the French Open with a straight sets victory over Santiago Gonzalez and Klaudia Jans-Ignacik.
Bhupathi and Mirza beat the unseeded Mexican-Polish partnership 7-6 (7/3) 6-1 in the 73-minute final on Court Philipe Chatrier.
The No 7 seeds broke serve three times in the second set with Bhupathi celebrating victory on his 38th birthday.
Mirza said: "Now I don't have to think of a gift to give him."
Bhupathi, who is married to Indian actress and former Miss Universe Lara Dutta, dedicated the trophy to his four-month-old daughter Saira.
It was the third time that Mirza and Bhupathi had reached a Grand Slam final together. They were Australian Open winners three years ago.
