nope in terms of business the peak era was since austin -mcmahon feud ... Rem that WWF was losing to WCW till then .. until the historic feud started ... AUSTIN saved WWF from WCW ... and when austin left for an year coz of injury it was the rock who took the show to its heights .. but ya austin opened the era for everyone !! ..

it was not just Austin-mc mahon feud , but the presence of DX also helped.

but the still most entertaining period in pro wrestling was 1997-98 , WCW had the NWO-Wolfpack and WWF had Bret Hart as ruling champion. WWF could not pay Bret his remunaration and he had to to leave, after that WCW became clearly No 1.

and Mc Mahon took the desperate measure, presenting himself as the heel to Austin, Shawn Michales, Triple H, undertaker and Mankind

maybe yes ... but i think he retired from ufc now and i feel he might come back to wwe now ... but one thing i feel is the best young talent last decade that really put fans of all ranges (not jst kids and women like cena has ) on their feet when he used to come would be brock ... he is no austin or rock or hhh or undertaker .. but he was the best at his prime ..

that wasnt the desperate measure ... WCW never made their own stars .. all they did was buy the stars created by wwf ... and the only star they could make were GOLDBERG and maybe STING ... austin was fired in WCW thanks to the politics of hogan and the group ..

technically as a wrestler BRET was the best ... but AUSTIN raped bret in mic skills ... and thats how bret let austin be the face .. he himself promoted austin even before mcmahon saw austin's potential .. another thing that WWF did in attitude era was to raise the bar ... they catered the show to adult audience by raising the ratings .. and that really worked coz austin , dx etc just took it all to an entire new level .. .

as far as WCW was concerned the internal politics along with the new WWF with attitude era it faded away ..
